We need your help! To provide a safe haven for those animals in the greatest need, Paws, Claws, and Hooves depends on the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Volunteers can expect to get dirty, meet new people, learn new skills, have lots of fun, and most of all save lives!

We have lots to do and welcome anyone who wants to make a difference in an animal's life!

Volunteer Opportunities

Shelter Build (Interior):  We need people with all kinds of construction experience. Although our buildings will be delivered in one piece we still need to build out the interiors. We need framers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, flooring installers; you name it and we need it!

Shelter Build (Exterior):  Swinging a hammer not your thing? Don't worry we need volunteers to help with creating play yards for the dogs and safe spaces for the kitties to get some fresh air!

Fundraising:  Even during construction the need to raise money is ever present. Paws, Claws, and Hooves does not receive any government funding and relies on donations to achieve its mission. So if building is not your thing then lend a paw to our fundraising folks to make our events spectacular!

Animal Caretaker:   Coming Soon!

When we do have residents to care for we will need lots of help keeping everybody clean and tidy! Besides the basics of feeding, watering, scooping (poop and litter), and general cleaning we will need people to assist in the kitten nursery (bottle babies everyone!), exercise yards, training and socialization areas, and many other tasks yet to be thought up!!

With just a little bit of training I will become the bestest dog ever!

We ask that volunteers have a genuine concern for animal welfare consistent with Paws, Claws, and Hooves' philosophy. New volunteers must read, understand, and abide by the Paws, Claws, and Hooves policy and procedures manual (provided at new volunteer orientation).

Age Requirements

Youth volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age to volunteer is 14. In addition to standard volunteer requirements and training, additional restrictions may apply to youth volunteers under 16 years old even when accompanied by an adult.
